PCN Fashion and Technology concept for WBENC Business Fair Booth realized in collaboration with Moore College of Art & Design

(Philadelphia, PA)  PC Network, Inc. (PCN), a woman-owned technology infrastructure services company headquartered in Philadelphia, has partnered with Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia to bring the worlds of fashion and technology together for PCN’s booth at the 2014 Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)  National Conference and Business Fair, June 23-25, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center & Philadelphia Marriott.

With the help of Janice Lewis, chair of Fashion Design at Moore, students Cassandra Covage and Claudia Geissler are creating fashions that reflect PCN’s innovative brand and the overall fashion and technology concept PCN dreamed up for their exhibit. The mannequins displaying the students fashion will have IP enabled technology devices – such as a mobile phone, laptop or tablet – in place of heads, reflecting the idea that technology has become an extension of us all.  “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Moore and such a talented pair of student designers to create a memorable exhibit for WBENC’s National Conference attendees” says Katrin Hillner, President and CEO of PCN.

On June 24, in the spirit of “American Idol” and “Project Runway,” business fair participants will be invited to vote via social media or paper ballot on the “winning look.” Led by Elissa Bloom, executive director of the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator, a panel of judges from leading fashion retailers exhibiting at the event, such as Macy’s and Target, will choose their favorite design. The judges will then give their feedback to the student team who collaborated on developing all three looks. The winning popular and expert look will be announced at the end of the day and the conversation throughout the event can be joined or followed at #fashiontechcollab.

Moore is the first and only visual arts college for women in the U.S. The College’s acclaimed fashion design department blends the best art and design training, with a strong emphasis on computer skills and technology. Notable alumni include renowned American fashion designer Adrienne Vittadini ’66 and Dom Streater ’10, winner of “Project Runway,” Season 12.

PCN is a global leader in DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management – a service foundational to the explosive growth and security of wireless and IP enabled devices – and also delivers a portfolio of infrastructure lifecycle management and staffing services.
